Introducing Doodle’s virtual badges

Doodle’s virtual badges are a fantastic feature designed to motivate children and celebrate their hard work.

Available in all of the Doodle programmes, badges transform every learning milestone into a wow-worthy achievement, encouraging learners to use Doodle ‘little and often’!

What are badges?

Along with Doodle’s stars and streaks, badges reward children for their effort and determination. This ensures that all learners can achieve them, regardless of their ability, helping to boost their confidence.

Badges are designed to be earned at regular intervals, encouraging children to use Doodle for a few minutes a day as they work towards achievable goals.

Children gradually unlock new badges as they progress, giving them fresh goals to work towards. And with over 100 badges to collect, there’s always something new for them to discover, helping to keep them motivated and engaged throughout their learning journey.

Learners can view the badges they’ve earned and their progress towards new ones at any time in the Learning Zone, letting them see just how far they’ve come and encouraging them to feel proud of their own achievements.

How to earn badges

Badges can be earned for lots of things, including:

  1. Earning stars
  2. Achieving streaks
  3. Giving kudos to friends
  4. Playing games
  5. Purchasing accessories in DoodleMaths
  6. Flying around the world in DoodleEnglish

Children can view the badges they’ve earned (and those they haven’t yet) by visiting the Badges page. To do this:

  1. Log in to DoodleMaths, DoodleEnglish, DoodleTables or DoodleSpell
  2. Press on the arrow icon in the top left-hand corner of the Learning Zone
  3. Select Badges

Badges in full colour represent those which a child has earned; clicking on them will show when they were unlocked.

Badges in reduced, transparent colours show those which haven’t been unlocked yet. For these, a yellow progress bar underneath will show children how close they are to achieving that badge.

Children will automatically be awarded a badge when they fulfil a badge’s requirements. A pop-up in Doodle will let them know they’ve earned a new badge, and we’ll let adults know the good news via email.
