Doodle can be used with or without a wi-fi or data connection.

However, the app only synchronises with other devices and the Parent and Teacher Dashboards when it has an internet connection.

If there is no connection, the app will store all progress locally to the device and synchronise when a connection is regained.

A DoodleAge is a way of measuring a child’s overall level of understanding. If a child has a DoodleAge of 7.5, they'll be working at the level of an average 7-and-a-half-year-old.

We calculate this by looking at the point a child is in their work programme in terms of the questions they're currently being asked. We then compare this to the average age of other children in our system who are at a similar point in their programme.

Doodle will begin by asking your child a series of questions when they first start using Doodle to help identify their current level. We record the areas where they find questions difficult until they reach a point where we know enough to build their work programme. At this point, their DoodleAge will be visible in the Parent Dashboard and Teacher Dashboard.
