Our story
Back in 2011, we realized the potential in using technology to teach. After watching their children playing on their tablets, Tom and Nicola, two math teachers, decided to create an app that would combine different learning styles, work alongside class-taught lessons, and encourage children to learn in a fun and personal way.
Looking back, we’ve come a long way from this initial eureka moment. We have released four Doodle programs covering math and English content that have been used by over one million children. We’re also used in hundreds of schools, in the UK and internationally—and this number continues to grow!

Our Core Beliefs
We’re passionate about developing innovative ways of helping children to learn.
Four core beliefs underpin the development of our programs:
1. Children learn best when work is personalized to their needs.
2. Children learn best through doing, experimenting, and trying things for themselves.
3. Children often forget what they’ve learned, unless they’re regularly reminded.
4. Children don’t always make the best choices when it comes to their learning.

Our Vision
Corporate and Social Responsibility
Helping Children Around the World
We’re proud to be used in schools all around the world, including the USA, Australia, Mexico, and Dubai.
As just one example, in 2018 we supplied 1,200 Kindle Fires with DoodleMath pre-installed to schools in Nigeria.
Reducing our Environmental Impact
Our environmental impact is always at the forefront of our mind. To save on paper, our Doodle programs, resources, and handbooks are all based online. We also make sure that our merchandise and office equipment are sourced as locally and ethically as possible—our pencils are made from 100% recycled CDs, and our milk, fruit, and cereals come from a Bath-based zero-waste shop! Recently, we set a challenge to our DoodleCoaching students: by earning more stars, we planted more trees. We are also working towards B-Corp certification to demonstrate our commitment to making a real difference in the world.
Working With our Local Community
We’re passionate about working with our community to encourage positive change and promote the tech industry. Earlier this year, we committed to a two-year partnership with a Bath-based charity, Mentoring Plus, to help raise vital funds to support young people experiencing challenging situations. We’ve also worked with the Bath Digital Festival to engage children with the world of tech, and ensure we take part in local initiatives to support the community.
