How Doodle works

How Doodle delivers personalised learning?

Find gaps
When a pupil first uses Doodle, they complete a baseline assessment. This data is used to identify each child’s current level and pinpoint gaps in knowledge across the whole curriculum to create unique learning programmes.
Close gaps
Doodle uses a clever algorithm called Proxima™ to tailor content to each child, working within their Zone of Proximal Development. Data collected from each child’s answers informs where a pupil needs to spend more time to build their understanding.
Real-time data and feedback
Doodle tracks pupil progress, providing real-time data to inform lesson planning and targeted interventions, empowering teachers to provide timely and personalised support.

How Doodle structures learning

Little and often
Doodle’s programmes encourage consistent daily practice through a series of short, focused questions. Its ‘little and often’ approach helps keep learning regular and target weaker areas over time using spaced repetition and scaffolded learning. Concepts are reinforced in small, manageable steps, helping to embed knowledge into long-term memory.

Curriculum alignment
All of Doodle’s programmes are aligned with the National Curriculum. Rather than focusing solely on a pupil’s current year group, Doodle automatically addresses gaps across the curriculum, ensuring learning is properly consolidated.

Step-by-step learning
Doodle introduces new concepts through mini lessons that build on pupils’ prior knowledge and encourage further discovery. Each concept includes two key elements: an interactive lesson to introduce the topic and a set of targeted questions to reinforce learning and check understanding.

Structured explanations
Doodle lessons come in two stages: Connect + Discover. Connect recaps previous learning, boosting each pupil’s confidence with content they already know. Discover focuses on 2-3 distinct learning points that are taught through modelled examples and interactive tasks.

Interactive questions
Creatively designed interactive questions bringing the power of technology to engage every pupil.

Cross-year reinforcement
Doodle’s progressive and carefully sequenced curriculum enables pupils to access the content that’s right for their stage of learning across multiple year groups. This means that pupils could be working across EYFS-KS3
