The award-winning maths and English apps for EYFS, KS1 & KS2

DoodleCoaching is an innovative approach to maths intervention. As well as filling in knowledge, it also helps pupils to become confident, resilient learners - both in school and beyond!

How it works

DoodleCoaching combines regular DoodleMaths usage with weekly 30-minute sessions. These can be led by any member of staff, with full online training included as part of the programme.

Each session is made up of pre-planned activities designed to build contribution, focus and reflection, so staff don’t need to prepare ahead of time.

1. Starter activities

Sessions begin with pupils completing a mathematical doodle in their DoodleCoaching Journal, a motivational workbook designed by our education specialists, to help settle them into a learning mindset.

Following this, a fun Question of the Week encourages less confident children to share their ideas with their group, giving them a space where they can contribute their thoughts with no right or wrong answers.

2. Independent learning

Children use DoodleMaths to target their learning gaps. It sets personalised work for every child, removing the need for staff to deliver maths content or timetable multiple intervention sessions.

At the same time, it ensures that work is at the right level of challenge for each pupil, enabling them to progress at their own pace and work on separate topics to those of their peers.

3. 1-to-1 learning

Session leaders encourage students to take the lead in their learning by setting their own intention for the week ahead, inspiring them to think about how they can achieve their goals.

Alongside this, they support each child with any tricky questions they’ve encountered in DoodleMaths. They also work with them to incorporate Doodle into their daily routine, making them accountable for working on their intentions over the course of the week.

4. Positive self-reflection

At the end of each session, children return to their DoodleCoaching Journal to reflect on how the session went.

Filled with hands-on activities and inspirational stories, the journal scaffolds positive learning behaviours and promotes resilience, boosting each pupil’s confidence a little every week.

5. Daily doodling and instant reporting

Session leaders encourage pupils to use DoodleMaths in between sessions to top-up and maintain their knowledge. Its interactive exercises keep learning fresh and engaging, ensuring academic progression while sparking a love of maths.

At the same time, an online hub lets staff easily track their students’ progress over time and instantly export data, making report writing and evidencing the impact of intervention a breeze.

Help your pupils get ready for the next school year with DoodleCoaching summer sessions!

Tried and tested in schools

DoodleCoaching has been used in twenty different schools over the last year to boost pupil independence and spark a love of learning.

“Every DoodleCoaching session is a treat for children and we’re already seeing progress in their confidence. I’ve been here for twenty years and used many maths programmes, but nothing is quite like DoodleCoaching!”
