5. In Manchester, the temperature at night was -4°C. By lunchtime, it had risen by 7°C but dropped by 5°C by 11 pm. What was the temperature at 11 pm?

6. Solve x in the equation 3x+5=20
Answer: 3x+5=20
3x=20-5
3x=15
x = 5
7. Simplify the expression: 4a+3a-2a
Answer: 5a
8. Simplify the expression: 5x + 3y-2x +7-y+4
Answer: = 3x + 2y + 11
9. If a=10 and b=-6 find the value of: 2a+3b
Answer: 2(10)+3(-6)

11. To bake a batch of peanut butter cookies I need 1 egg, 200g of peanut butter, and 175g of sugar.
How many batches of cookies can I make if I have 12 eggs, 1kg of peanut butter and 1kg of sugar?
